Eden is a long haired dachshund and she loves her bath, her Hallowe'en costumes, her time basking in the sunlight on the arm of my chair. When my daughter, Amy gives her a bath, she actually falls asleep in the tub. We have piled soap bubbles on her head, moved her around gently but she remains sound asleep. When her hair grows out it is long and wild looking and I love that look of her best. Unfortunately she has the type of hair that knots and you cannot comb it out so we have to opt to get her groomed "close" to alleviate those dreaded knots on her. She hates getting her hair cut. For days after she mopes around and is so sad. She loves the process of her spa time with the groomer but the results? She hates her hair shorn. Her personality is bubbly, excitable, edgey when her hair is flying all over at the place. But she totally changes after the cut.
She has several hoodies that we put on her to replace that lost fur and we cuddle her lots to let her know that she is still beautiful to us....long hair or short hair.
She has a very sweet temperament and plays the most with Abby. Her ears are long and silky and Abby finds them fun to chomp on which causes Eden to get hurt sometimes with those sharp mini teeth. I have to intervene and discipline Abby saying no to her explaining to her that we do not hurt each other in our family. Bless little Eden's heart, even though she looks at me with those eyes that says..."Not her again", she still plays and chases and tries to spend time with her new small sister.
Oftentimes I find Eden sprawled on her back in the middle of the sofa, lets stretched heavenward, dead to the world after a vigorous workout with Abby. Sometimes girl just has to have me time and Eden chooses that coveted nap to get her time alone away from everyone!
Blessings to everyone today and go kiss those pets of yours right now!
