Abby is now officially (well almost 100%) o.k. 95% going to the bathroom on her paper. I had to remove the mat in the kitchen near the sink because it is rectangular shape and it is a similar shape to the newspaper so Abby figured why not? I said because .... and removed the mat for now. Every time she goes to the bathroom on the paper. I praise and encourage her. She then stops, sits down and gives me the biggest smile because she has done something good and I like what she's accomplished. Then I say "Good girl, come get a treat!" She learned that word treat ever so quickly.
I broke some baked mini milk bones into small pieces and that is her reward for "doing her business" in the right spot. She knows her name Abby and is fast becoming one of the pack. She gets a bit disappointed when the big dogs can go outside and stands at the door with her little head down because she would like to cross over and go out too. The delight she exudes when the door is re-opened to let those guys back in is amazing.
She is happy, adjusting and I am very proud of her progress so far. Blessings to everyone. Go kiss your pets today.
