Friday... a sad day indeed

On Friday I had to make the decision to put my loving cat of 23 years down.  He was experiencing a bit of memory loss and he was experiencing trouble with his right front paw.  After a thorough examination Oreo was diagnosed with probable diabetes and the first stages of lung cancer. He was still eating fine at home, using his litter box properly,  drinking his  clean water but I knew he was gradually shutting down.
Although it has been hard and I miss him terribly I know it was the right thing to do.  I did not want him suffer or be in pain and thank goodness at this stage he was not.  He was a wonderful, loyal, loving little guy and I will miss him terribly.
Part of our life cycle is coming to the end.  He passed away with no pain and was surrounded by those who loved him.  Rest in peace Oreo. Where you have gone knows no age limits or sickness.  You were freed to become ageless and well and we will see you soon.  Love you lots.  xxxooo
