This is the time of year that you get down and depressed living in your ice cube world in Canada. You long for warmth and sunshine and a chance to get out into your garden. You want to wear sandals and shorts and let your hair blow in the breeze. You desire cold drinks with ice cubes in them rather than living inside those ice cubes.
You look out and see the white snow and snowbanks and feel imprisoned inside your house. You want to escape and run towards the sun.
The trick is to get "into" the summer mindset long before summer hits. You start thinking in greens and pinks with touches of sunglasses and bathing suits. You envision your mini "s" convertible with its top down revving in the driveway ready to take you off on an adventure. You pull out your puppies t-shirts with the butterflies and ice cream cones on them to launder while you wait for the season change.
Soon. Soon everything will turn around and we will be panting as we click on the AC and find shade to escape from the scorching heat. Ohhhh, sounds delightful.
Pour yourself a lemonade and dust off that lawn chair. Park in front of your fireplace and dream of the warm season to come.
