Use your time wisely

The number of volunteers are declining.  People are busy.  People are tired.  People want to go home and put up their feet.  People don't want to give of themselves after hours.  Who is suffering?  Our communities are suffering greatly.

Being a volunteer is a very noble and honourable thing.  We are needed in almost every aspect of life these days.  Everything does not have to have a price tag attached to it.  The best things in life are free.

Give of yourself.  Sometimes it only takes a few hours a week to make a whole lifetime of difference in someone's life.  Browse the local papers, look around, ask around and see where you could serve to make this world a better place.  Get out there and be a volunteer.  Find out what your passion is and sign up there. Helping kids read at the local school?  What about the hospital close to you?  The food banks?  Driving people to appointments?   Step out of your comfort zone and raise your hand to go.  You do receive so much more in return than you give out.  Give it a try.  I am sure you will be pleased.  Enjoy your day and be blessed so you in turn can bless others.
