Making a list, hopefully checking it twice....what's on your list? Is it full to overflowing? It is plain overwhelming? Well then stop, breathe and take second look.
We have first world country problems when it comes to Christmas time. Everything revolves around stuff, events, wardrobe, entertainment and although we have an abundance of every thing we feel burdened and depressed a lot. It is nice to adopt the philosophy that less is better. To have a more simplified life, less clutter, less being "keeper of the stuff" is freeing and truly fun. We must learn to keep short lists, buy less belonging because often our belongings start belonging us.
As you get older your start to get the proper perspective on what is of value and importance. The truth is "stuff" doesn't cut it. "It cannot respond to you, love you or have a relationship with you ... it is just there for you to stewart. When you are long gone the second generation comes into your coveted "junk pile" and finds other homes for it to go to. ( Just have an aging parent that has to be moved into a nursing home facility as see if this is not the truth.)
The things that remain cannot be purchased. Work on those things in your life. Those things become not only temporal, but eternal. Count your blessings daily, give more receive and free yourself from the "stuff" that binds you and gets in the way of making your life more wholesome.
Blessings and have a great day!
